Hi Karel. Love your web site. very cool. I'm 62 years old and need a training procedure that I can do in the morning before I go to work. I will be retiring soon but I want to spend at least 15 minutes every morning doing something that will improve my personal fitness and, hopefully, add years on to my life. What do you suggest? Thanks, Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Congratulations! You decided to do something about your personal fitness. It's a start. Before you dive into a training program, let me ask you about your morning. Are you rushing around to get ready, like most people? Or do you really have 15 minutes to commit? I would rather you spend the time having a good breakfast. Breakfast is the MOST IMPORTANT meal of the day. Scramble a few eggs in olive oil. Sprinkle some feta cheese on top. Boil some water and cook raw oats. Add blueberries. Drink a big glass of water or have some green tea. You'll set for the morning. The time spent is worth it!!!

Hey Karel,
I just checked out the website and it is great! How did your ski race go in Tahoe this weekend? Are you still beatin all those twenty-somethings in the open category, rather than competing in the veteran's category?

Also, I had a question for you. As an active female in my twenties I was curious what vitamins you would recommend I take, so that I can be as active as you when I am your age?

Cheers
Jem P.

Hi Jem P.

The weather has warmed-up here in Northern Cal. I actually spent the weekend at the Delta, getting ready for the windsurfing season.

This ski season, I've raced just for fun. You're right, I am in the Veteran catagory. For some reason, they keep putting me with the young skiers. Don't know why.

Check out the store on the website. There is a great women's multiple vitamin. If you are very active and doing any weight-bearing exercises, you may consider glucosamine. Even if you're only in your 20's, you want to protect your joints. Please read all the information regarding supplements.

Hi Guys! I have compiled some healthy tips for you.

Tip of the week:

Proper selenium levels will decrease your chances for arthritis by about 50%. High selenium foods are tuna, shellfish and salmon. Remember, tuna does contain some heavy metals, so limit your intake to 2-3 servings per week. Make sure the salmon is wild from Alaska, it's the best.

Hi Guys,

It's cherry picking season! One of my daughter's favorite activities. Cherries reduce joint inflammation, because they contain natural cox-2-inhibitors.

You and the kids can eat while you're picking, and take some cherries home. It's alot of fun. Enjoy!!

Karel's new DVD is ready and can be purchased and downloaded from www.overthehillfitness.com.

If you don't think Karel's exercises and nutritional plans work, I lost 50 lbs in 4 months and reversed my diabetes.

Hi Karel. You web site is great. I'm not old yet but I am happy to see you are out there. I really feel that there has it too much focus on younger persons in terms of fitness. I'm really glad to be able to access your great skill with inspiring people to maintain a healthy life style. There is no better preventative medicine for aging. I can't wait for the DVD.

Dear Eugenie,

Over the Hill Fitness is not for "old" people. The anti-aging exercise program can be used at any age.

It is similar to putting money in the bank. Most people save for retirement. If you take care of your body now, your body will take care of you later.

Good-luck. Start exercising today. You won't regret it.
